AdSense is all about making money online with your high traffic blog or website. Using AdSense on your blog or webpage is not only enough to generate residual income online. Online income with Google AdSense program involves knowledge and skill of proper ad placement, colors and format.
If you are using AdSense for a white on your blog and think it is not generating enough income for you, this article will really help you improve your online earnings. I assume that you are already aware of Google AdSense to make money online and you have already placed Google ads on your blog or webpage.
The main AdSense ad placement strategies are:
- Ad format.
- Colors of Ad title, text and link.
- Ad type, image and text.
- Ad placement. The location of AdSense ad block on your page.
- Relevance of ads with the page content.
Standard formats are square box 300x250 and vertical box 160x600. You can also use many of others, best format is greatly depends on the structure of your webpage and the whole site layout. It is recommended to use one vertical ad box in sidebar and one square box in content.
Colors should be used in such a way that it meets the overall look of your webpage and it do not highlight it self as advertise. You can use colors to match with your content so people at the first sight can not distinguish between the ads and content. It improves the CTR (Click Through Ratio).
Ad type is also not standardize, earning with this depends a lot on which advertisement are being displayed. Any way, in my opinion text ad will show 4 ads at a time while image ad will display only 1 ads, hence there are higher ad impression and higher chances for getting clicked. You can try default settings and let the AdSense decide, which ad type is more profitable for both you and Google.
Ad placement is also the matter of research. Here are some standardized placement locations that most blogger and webmasters follow.
- Link ads near navigation menu.
- 300x250 AdSense block exact under the title (header tag) and before the content.
- Small ad unit in between the content.
- One vertical ad unit in any of the sidebar.
It is advisable to research on your own to find the best ad color, type and placement for your site which can lead to highest revenue from your webpage. Never put ads in lower part of webpage, where visitor have to scroll down the page to see. They will have very rare chances to get clicked.
If you think your ads are not being relevant as it should be, there are chances that your content is not enough keyword rich or there is a lake of on page SEO, I mean AdSense script is not able to detect perfect relative keywords on your page. The only solution is to write around the topic and make your content keyword rich.
